A rebuild needs a defined problem

Before rebuilding service pages, identify what is actually failing. A site with valid metadata and working canonical URLs needs a different plan from one with broken routes or hidden content. Do not turn a checklist into a list of assumed defects.

Inventory the complete public surface

Combine sitemap URLs, source routes, CMS records and internal links. Record each page's purpose, intended buyer, title, description, H1, canonical, robots directives, schema and CTA. Preserve working behavior as the comparison baseline.

Agree the content and business truth

Explain who each service is for, what is delivered, dependencies, exclusions, review process and next step. Reconcile maintenance allowances and ownership statements with the approved plans and agreement. Prices, availability, security controls and delivery commitments need actual business approval.

Keep missing proof visible in the work plan. A developer cannot create client permission, an audit report or a measured project result by changing a template.

Implement and test the relevant changes

Review shared layouts, navigation, metadata generation, forms and CMS rendering before editing individual pages. Check server HTML and hydrated output. Test representative templates and changed components on desktop and mobile, with keyboard access, JavaScript disabled and reduced motion where applicable.

Validate structured-data syntax and its agreement with visible content. Review rich-result eligibility separately. Measure lab performance reproducibly and keep field-data limitations explicit.

Leave a reviewable handoff

The deliverable should include a URL inventory, topic map, findings with evidence, before/after crawl, exact source and content changes, test results and remaining decisions. Each confirmed issue should have an affected URL, source location, proposed fix and verification result.

Use a review branch and a deployment plan that preserves runtime data and a previous release. Code rollback and CMS rollback are separate operations. A successful local build is not a production deployment or proof of external email delivery.

Discuss the implementation scope after identifying the pages and business outcomes that matter.

Sources and scope

Platform behavior can change. Check the documentation for the version and account you use. Recommendations in this guide do not guarantee a ranking, performance gain, compliance outcome or project result.
