What AI-search preparation means for a service business

It means making the service understandable and the evidence checkable when a buyer researches a problem. Google says its normal technical requirements and people-first SEO practices also apply to its AI features. There is no separate markup that guarantees inclusion.

A buyer comparing development companies needs to understand fit, scope, dependencies and the next step. A page that repeats a service name without answering those questions is a weak buying resource, even when its metadata is valid.

Start with the decision a customer needs to make

For each service, answer five questions: Who is it for? What will be delivered? What does the client need to provide? What is excluded? How is the work reviewed and handed over?

For an AI assistant, useful detail includes the permitted source documents, integrations, evaluation questions and human escalation. For a WordPress engagement, it includes custom code, plugin dependencies, content migration and maintenance responsibilities. Describe the work you actually offer.

Show proof that can be assessed

Link relevant, permissioned case studies to the service. Explain your exact contribution. If an outcome is measured, give the metric definition, source and measurement window. Keep qualitative feedback qualitative. Do not convert a client quote into an invented percentage improvement.

Use a clear company identity and genuine organizational authorship. Serving a country remotely does not justify claiming an office there.

Check delivery and measurement separately

Verify the page response, canonical, robots rules, visible text, ordinary links and matching structured data. Test the rendered page on mobile and desktop. A correct page can be technically eligible without being selected or indexed by a search service.

Use the reports available in Search Console alongside actual enquiries and qualified opportunities. A lab accessibility or performance score is not a measure of AI citations or business growth.

Discuss a service-page implementation with a clear scope rather than buying a guaranteed visibility result.
